Congrats to the girls soccer team as they took down Columbus 3-2 in overtime! Goals were scored by Freshman Hayley Sturla (an assist from Kaylee Scott), Cynthia Soto and Cari Anderson. After leading at half 2-0, Columbus back to tie the match in the second half and send the game into overtime. In the second half of overtime, Cari Anderson launched a beautiful shot into the left corner of the net over the keeper’s head from a free kick. Carleigh Spivey played an outstanding game in the net for the Patriots. This is the first time in the school’s history beating the tough team and school rival at Columbus High. The girls are back in action finishing out their region play by the end of next week.
